We are experiencing significant growth and are looking for an ambitious and experienced Sales Director who can plan, coordinate and manage our global BWMS sales activities.
DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is one of the world’s leading developers and suppliers of Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) used on-board ships worldwide to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. We are facing a booming market in the coming years and our CompactClean BWMS is highly requested by customers due to chemical free treatment, simplicity, small footprint, and the strongest set of type approvals in the business. Therefore, we are significantly boosting our global BWMS sales organization, and are looking for an experienced Sales Director to join us as soon as possible to take part in the expansion of the sales organization.
Become part of an ambitious and engaged organisation
As Sales Director you are part of DESMI Ocean Guard management team where you will be responsible for managing DESMI Ocean Guard’s global BWMS sales activities. This includes the management of 5 regional sales teams, each headed by a Regional Manager, and a sales support team based in Denmark. In this new sales organization there are currently many open positions and you will play a key role in the significant expansion of our BWMS sales team. We also expect your operational involvement in marketing activities and key customer events.
You will together with Management be responsible for developing the overall sales strategy, targets and KPI’s. You will be responsible for the implementation of this global sales strategy and for breaking it down to regional targets and action plans that can be implemented by the Regional Managers. You will engage in close teamwork with the Regional Managers and you will have responsibility for meeting sales targets. You should expect a close collaboration with DESMI Ocean Guard CEO, and with the Marine & Offshore Segment Director in DESMI Pumping Technology.
You will be based at DESMI Ocean Guard head office located in Nørresundby, Denmark, where also DESMI’s global headquarter with more than 250 employees and own production and warehouse facilities is located. DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is 100% owned by DESMI A/S and you will therefore become part of a large international company with more than 185 years history and around 1000 employees worldwide. You will report directly to the CEO. You should expect some travel activity, around 90 days per year.
Sales Director with global sales management experience
You have a proven track record with successful management of global sales activities in the marine segment – but could also be from other similar businesses. Experience with distance management and management in a matrix organisation is an advantage. You are used to working with different nationalities and cultures, and you have excellent communication, motivation and people management skills. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
